Facial Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

Facial Liposuction: during this procedure Dr. Schmitz removes your fat from under your chin by using a suction device re-contouring your profile. You will no longer have jowls, a double chin, or sagginess under the chin. Dr. Schmitz will either remove the fat through an incision in your mouth or under your chin.

This procedure can transform your face so it looks incredibly thinner and will make you look like you have lost a lot of weight. Facial liposuction can also help save you from a receding chin.

Neck Lifts: Some necks begin to age sooner than the rest of the face. The skin wobbles and hangs slightly under your face. Sometimes age has nothing to do with the need for a neck lift (also known as a platysmaplasty), but rather a considerable loss in weight. It could also be an inherited feature.

This type of surgery is designed to remove sagging skin on the neck and under the jaw line. For some individuals, the platysma muscle in the neck is tightened and adjusted, if it has begun to sag and separate.

Eyelid Tucks (Blepharoplasty): during this procedure Dr. Schmitz corrects sagging and drooping of the eyelids, excess fat, and atrophied muscle and skin.

Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate your face and make it look more awake. Your eyes will be rid of excess baggage and you will look as good as you feel.

Ear Tucks (Otoplasty): a common type of Otoplasty is ear pinning, which brings the ear(s) closer to the head or will reduce the appearance of larger ears. This procedure can also correct ear deformities caused by trauma, inheritance, or the habit of ear pulling (toddlers pull their ears while teething which can cause a misshapen or elongated earlobe). Trauma can create a “cauliflower ear” which is the result of scar tissue contracting the cartilage in your ear. Ear surgery is most common in children and teens.

Nasal Cosmetic Surgery (Rhinoplasty): nasal surgery commonly corrects a hump/bump, decreases the size of the nose, or builds up the nasal bridge. The correction of a poorly healed nose after being broken is also quite common. Dr. Schmitz will also perform nasal surgery to a nose that impairs breathing.

Facelift Surgery: a face lift is a form of surgery that is designed to reduce wrinkling, sagging, and jowls in the neck and lower face. A facelift is not effective in correcting crow’s feet, wrinkling at the corners of the mouth, or vertical wrinkles around the lips. A face lift prevents the advancement of aging. By getting a facelift, relatively young individuals (under 40 years of age) you will appear to stay young and those who already have wrinkles and saggy skin, will appear fresher and younger.

Brow Lifts: Frequently, one of the earliest signs of aging is the drooping or lowering of the eyebrows. This change is often overlooked, but brow lift surgery can make a big difference.

Drooping of the skin on the brows and of the eyebrows themselves can be due to loose skin and fat loss around the brow, forehead and temples. Age, sun damage, and furrowing your brow can also create horizontal wrinkles on the forehead and vertical frown lines in the glabella (the small area between the two eyebrows and above the nose). A brow lift, also called a forehead lift, can improve all these problems and give you a younger, more refreshed look.

Lip Implants: There are several techniques to enhance your lips. Lip implants are slightly more invasive than other procedures, but are more cost effective because they are longer lasting than injections. With injections, they only last several months, whereas lip implants can last for years.

BOTOX®: BOTOX‚® Cosmetic is a popular minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure. This procedure is used to treat wrinkles in areas such as the forehead, frown, crow’s feet, and neck lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic is the commercial name for Botulinum toxin, Type A.

Botulinum can be safely used to treat migraines, muscle spasms, and excessive sweating. With little recovery time and nearly immediate results, BOTOX Cosmetic can help you rejuvenate your face.

Dermal Fillers (Juvederm, Restalyne): A Dermal Filler is a colorless Hyaluronic Acid gel that is injected into your facial tissue. This gel will smooth wrinkles and folds, specifically around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar that is naturally found in the human body. This acid delivers nutrients, acts as a cushioning agent, and hydrates your skin by holding in water. Youthful skin contains rich hyaluronic acid. However, as we age, the distribution of hyaluronic acid in our skin gradually changes, which leads to signs of aging. Dermal Fillers work by increasing your skin’s own amount of hyaluronic acid, which adds volume to soften the signs of aging or improve your features.

Chin Augmentation (Genioplasty): A receding or weak chin can disproportionate an otherwise beautiful or handsome face. A normal nose can appear large, and can make your neck look double chinned or fleshy. Many people who think they need a nose job actually learn that part or their entire problem is a weak chin.

Chin augmentation surgery adds prominence to your chin and brings the lower jaw (mandible) forward. Dr. Schmitz will insert an implant of biological or synthetic material to make your chin more prominent. Sometimes, Dr. Schmitz may cut a piece of bone from the lower jaw and reattach it in a more distinguished position
